I will overwhelm 'serious boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be shown live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to build hype for next month's bout.

Ex two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to really want to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

Despite those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally known for his showmanship - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK rival Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making huge financial rewards.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and stated he would stop the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul participated in the traditional stare-down, with their size difference clearly visible, it drove home just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is truly proceeding.
