Vehicles in German City Discovered Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police Confirm

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Officers stated they were alerted by a resident who noticed a car in Hanau covered with red-colored liquid

Approximately fifty automobiles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.

Vehicles, exterior walls and postal boxes were defaced, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they stated in a official communication.

Police report they were contacted during the night on Wednesday night, when a man observed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued liquid.

The substance had been placed in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Law enforcement then discovered numerous other vandalized vehicles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

These symbols are banned in Germany under regulations outlawing the public display of Nazi symbols.

Police state preliminary tests indicate the liquid was most likely blood from a person.

"There is still no lead as to its origin; investigators are presently not cognizant of any harm in relation with the incident," they commented.

Municipal representatives stated they were attempting "to solve the mystery" and have asked to the community for information.

An important official stated the vandalism left him stunned and required to be addressed promptly.

"This act strikes at the core of Hanau and reopens the pain of the right-wing violent incident five years ago," he stated on online, referring to the death of nine people by a shooter targeting residents of immigrant origin in February 2020.
